Taking into consideration the pastoral care of the people, the convenience of the priests working in the Area and after consulting the priests of the respective vicariates and the Vicars Forane, St John Mary Vianney Vicariate is divided and a new vicariate of St Alphonsa is hereby erected as per Can.374§2.

St John Mary Vianney Vicariate will comprise of the following parishes:

       1. Thiruvallur                              2. Gandhipet                           3. Kadambathur
       4. Kilacherry                               5. Manavala Nagar                6.Pannur                                7. Pinjivakkam Kandigai

The newly erected Vicariate shall be named as St Alphonsa Vicariate and will comprise of the following parishes.

       1. Alphonsapuram                     2. Kanakammachatram          3. Pandravedu
       4. Thiruvalangadu                      5. Thozhudavur                        6. Tiruttani
      
Our Lady of Refuge Parish, Uthukottai so far belonging to St John Mary Vianney Vicariate shall henceforth be in the vicariate of St Jude, Minjur. This reorganization, division and erection shall come into force from the 4th of 
August 2010.
